Chemical Peels for Radiant Skin

April 11, 2016 by wpengine

Chemical peels

Everyone wants their skin to be young, beautiful and smooth. Unfortunately, our skin is constantly bombarded by external forces that attempt to rob it of its youthful appearance. The sun can cause irreversible damage to the skin. Pollution, diet, water and the stresses of everyday life can also take a toll on our skin. If you want to maintain your youthful appearance, you need to go on the defensive. One of the best defensive approaches you can take is getting a chemical peel.

Chemical peels are a phenomenal way to drastically improve the way your skin looks and feels. Unlike injection treatments, such as BOTOX®, the results from a chemical peel are long lasting. If a person has a medium strength peel, the results could last for more than a year.

Of course, this does not mean that as time goes on you’re not going to get more wrinkles. Wrinkling is a natural part of the aging process. However, chemical peels can slow this process down drastically.

Chemical peels are divided into three levels. There is a light peel, a medium peel and a deeper procedure. Every chemical peel uses a special solution. What varies is the level of concentration the solution has in the chemical peel.

In most cases, if a person has a light peel, the concentration of the solution is not more than 35 percent. A light peel is a perfect way to temporarily smooth minor wrinkling of the skin, as well as repair dry and rough skin. With a light peel, you will likely need multiple treatments to get the result, but the results will be noticeable.

A light chemical peel does not require recovery time. It is important to protect yourself from the sun after the treatment, but you should feel free to go back to your regularly scheduled activities immediately after the procedure. A medium peel is going to have up to twice as much of the solution as a light peel. Since this peel will affect deeper layers of the skin, you may feel discomfort, and you may need to take up to a week off work. However, the results will be visible once the healing is complete, and it will last for up to a year. A deep skin chemical peel is the most effective. They must be performed under close medical care. This treatment has a more extensive recovery time. However, the results could last for years.

Chemical peels are an excellent way to address the signs of aging and to recover youthful vitality.
