Treating Crow’s Feet and Lip Lines with Restylane

On the inside, you are the youthful, energetic person you have always been, but your mirror may tell another story. If the years are catching up to you in the form of wrinkles and fine lines, treating them with Restylane lift can help restore your soft, smooth skin.

What is Restylane®?

Restylane Lift is a type of dermal filler that is injected into your skin. It is made from a form of hyaluronic acid, a substance that is biocompatible and exists naturally in the body. When it is injected into your skin, it adds immediate fullness and volume, smoothing away troublesome lines and folds. If you are looking for a natural-looking solution that does not involve surgery, Restylane® could be the answer for you.

What Areas of the Face are Treated with Restylane®?

Restylane® is used to treat wrinkles that are considered moderate to severe. It is most commonly injected in the nasolabial folds that run from your nose to your mouth, lines around the eyes known as crow’s feet, lip lines, and other areas of the face such as the forehead.

What to Expect During a Restylane® Treatment

Your Restylane® treatment should take less than an hour. Small injections will be made to the areas of concern using ultrafine needles. Restylane® is combined with lidocaine, an anesthetic, to reduce pain during your procedure. You can immediately return to your normal activities after treatment and will see an immediate improvement in your facial lines. You may experience some redness, bruising, swelling, and tenderness for one to two weeks after your procedure. Restylane® is eventually absorbed back into the body, with results generally lasting six to nine months. At that point, you may return for a follow-up treatment.

Are You a Candidate for Restylane®?

You must be at least 21 to have Restylane® treatments. Restylane® is not advised if you suffer from severe allergies or have a bleeding disorder. If you are allergic to lidocaine, you should not have Restylane® treatment. Pregnant women and women who are breastfeeding may be encouraged to seek other alternatives. If you are prone to cold sores and have your lip lines treated, cold sores may be triggered by your injections. If you are in good health and have no other concerns with your health, Restylane® may be an effective option for you.
